Doing business in Africa is not difficult. Many major multinational
corporations have bases and many African-based corporations are
highly-professional , strongly motivated and open to international trade.
Here are some of them in Alphabetical order:
ABSA- South Africa's leading Banking brand offers financial services and
identifies investment opportunities in South Africa. It is also involved in
philanthropic projects such as the South African Early Childhood Development
awards for 2007.

ADB- The African Development Bank is a multilateral bank founded in 1964. It
is engaged in mobilizing resources towards economic and social progress in
the continent. ADB's headquarters are in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.

Anglo American- Is Africa's biggest company. It is a major international
organization specializing in mining and development of Africa's vast array
of mineral and precious metal resources. The organization was critical of
the Apartheid regime in which it operated for decades. According to its
website it has no black executive directors. Two of its non-executive
directors are black and one of these is a woman. It has an executive board
which includes no black Africans.

Shell- The major multinational energy company admits having made mistakes
in Africa and is straightforward in saying that its involvement in the
continent is not altruistic. This Anglo-Dutch multinational has operations
in more than a dozen African countries. Its statement that "Shell is
Africa" is, however, open to question.

Unilever - Under the leadership of Niall FitzGerald, a citizen of the
Republic of Ireland who has been given an honorary British knighthood ,
Unilever pursued an ethical policy in Africa and the sensitivity of its
operations in Kenya have been contrasted with those of Del Monte.
